Festival Opera's Candide - August 2005

San Francisco Opera Supers, Charlie Lichtman, Paul Szczesiul. Bjon Farber, and Mike Harvey didn't know what they were getting into when they signed on to this fully staged version of Leonard Bernstein's Candide. Moving scenery, setting props, carrying principals around, delivering lines in a fake German accent with an Elmer Fudd giggle, a separate supers' curtain call, and in Charlie's case, designing a complete book (sample page) of staging cues for supers and production staff - all part of an extraordinary experience.
